Inlandia Journal Volume X Fall 2019

The fall issue of volume ten of Inlandia: A Literary Journey is live today! I’m excited about our new issue. I wrote a ‘Letter from the Editor‘ for the first time, highlighting some of the pieces that have California as their subject or theme. In addition, this issue has interviews with the poetry and fiction editors. My hope is that their insights will help people who are submitting work to literary journals.

Letter from the Editor

There’s so much to enjoy here. I’m very grateful for the discerning judgment of David Stone, Lavina Blossom, Linda Rhoades, and Becca Spence Dobias. I’m equally grateful for the authors and artists who shared their work with us.

Table of Contents

There is so much here to enjoy or to contemplate in a serious mood: a poem on being a deportee; various images of sky and earth in the desert landscape; reflections on Passover, clinical depression, and facing (literal) darkness. There is the desire to share the exhilaration of seeing a whale; the sorrow and coming to terms of a teacher whose student is killed in an accident.

I hope you have the opportunity to peruse the work of these wonderful authors and artists.

Note: Our next Inlandia issue will be for teen authors and artists (ages 13-19). Submissions will open in approximately one month and will be announced on this blog. Happy writing!
